During the 1950’s Rolf Krueger emigrated from Germany to Southwest Michigan. He was a young man looking for adventure and hoping to find opportunities that seemed possible in a new and growing country. Many new Americans had taken the same path and found what they were looking for in Southwest Michigan.

Rolf met and married Hildegaurd Skale whose family had also come to Southwest Michigan from Germany. They settled in Benton Harbor, Michigan and began raising a family.

In 1963 Rolf was working for Glenn White, owner of White Engineering in Niles, Michigan. Later that year Rolf and his wife would embark on a path that would bring White Engineering into the Krueger family where it continues to thrive today.

Kurt Krueger was born in 1964 and began working at White Engineering as soon as he could carry a broom and a paint brush. Having started working at a young age Kurt learned to be a Tool & Die Maker from the ground up. Kurt was able to take advantage of learning from some of the most experienced and skilled tradesmen in his field. Combining his years of experience along with continued education Kurt has grown White Engineering into the modern machine shop facility it is today.

In 1995 White Engineering moved from its original location on South 11th street to its current location on Geyer Road in Niles, Michigan.

After having helped run the shop for several years, Kurt and his wife Sharon became the new owners of White Engineering in 2003. Continuing the tradition of a family owned and operated business Kurt and Sharon’s children also began working at White Engineering with brooms and paint brushes. Having learned the business from the ground up with the benefit of skilled tradesmen and formal education, Ryan and Andrea are the 3rd generation of the Krueger Family working to bring quality products and service to our customers.
